Reviews and Ratings

Community Reviewer rated this wine as 87/100
This light-bodied Pinot Blanc has restrained aromas of white fruit; with a hint of residual sugar; very approachable. This white wine from Cave Vinicole de Hunawihr winery... With a touch of residual sweetness, this wine is soft and alluring with subtle fruit flavours. The grape is a white mutation of Pinot Gris, itself a mutation of Pinot Noir, which was observed and distinguished from Chardonnay in the late 1890s in Burgundy.
Cave Vinicole de Hunawihr has created a light-bodied Pinot Blanc featuring subtle aromas of white peach and Asian pear. There's just a touch of sweetness to make this wine attractive with dishes that have the same (think glazed ham). This zesty white wine is created from the Pinot Blanc grape, which in turn is thought to be a variation of the Pinot Gris grape, which again is a variation on Pinot Noir from the French wine region of Burgundy back in the 1890s. Enjoy it with line-caught halibut.
