Natalie's Score: 90/100

A fresh and mouth-filling Niagara Chardonnay that is not heavy, but rather, completely balanced. The 2013 vintage of this Chardonnay from Cave Spring has great depth and persistence of flavours such as green apple and fresh peach. The Chardonnay grapes were grown in the winery's Cave Spring Vineyard for this Niagara white wine. Pair with roast chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: planked salmon.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

I always enjoy every vintage of Cave Spring Chardonnay. This vintage is no exception. Medium lemon in colour with enticing aromas of ripe apple, peach, tropical fruit, blossoms, butter and nuts. The palate is smooth and creamy with butter repeating as well as citrus, yogurt, vanilla, honey and toast. Refreshing acidity and lingering honeyed finish. Nice job!
Pair with planked salmon, seafood, lobster with butter, pasta in cream sauce.
Tasted: June 2015
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A nose of tropical fruit and vanilla, followed by a palate of tropical fruit, citrus lime, vanilla and toasted oak. Dry with a well-balanced mouthfeel and a long tropical fruit finish.
This estate bottled Niagara Bench Chardonnay offers bright aromas of white peach and green apple. - Community Wine Reviews
