Spectacular for the money! Great intensity and depth of flavour in the glass; great pleasure and satisfaction in the mind. A lovely juicy, spicy wine with fleshy ripe cherries and smoke. Medium- to full-bodied and satin smooth. Terrific! Previous vintages of this wine have won the Gold Medal at the prestigious Concours des Grands Vins de France.

Food pairings: lamb cutlets, beef stew, grilled chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This wine bursts from the glass, with black cherry, dried black briar, white pepper, dried flowers, camphor, charcoal, hung meat and an ironish quality coming through on the finish. A Crozes that's dangerously close to running into the Cornas flavour spectrum. 92 Points.
Cave De Tain Grand Classique (2015) is a great value, 100% Syrah Crozes-Hermitage from the Rhône wine region. Rich and juicy with ripe red cherries, blackberry, smoky savoury spices and flint. Pair with a roast of beef. - Community Wine Reviews
