This full-bodied white wine has a smoky nose with peach and Asian pear flavours on the palate. Robust, tasty and satisfying. This wine comes from one of Argentina’s leading producers. Perfect for roast chicken or turkey. The grapes for this wine come from 3 vineyards and are whole cluster pressed and aged for 10 months in French barrels. Pair with roast chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: smoky roast chicken, duck a l'orange, lobster dipped in butter, beef bourguignon, cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Paired with Gnocchi, Mushrooms, Brown butter, Cherry tomatoes courtesy of gezellig Restaurant.
Barrel fermented with wild yeasts. The winemaker suggests this wine could age 8+yrs. This is a full-bodied Chardonnay from the Mendoza region of Argentina. There's plenty to savour with apple, citrus, earthiness( mushroom),bread, hint of floral and honey. The length is long with a creamy finish. Acidity is Medium+. Worked beautifully with this dish.
Tasted: October 2014
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

From the high altitude Mendoza region in Argentina comes this refreshing Chardonnay with light tropical fruit on the nose. The rich palate offers peach, citrus, vanilla and buttered popcorn. Fermented “sur lees” for extra flavour. Enjoy with buttered Gnocchi and mushrooms
The 2013 vintage of this Chardonnay was matured for 10 months, sur lies (on its yeast) before it was bottled where it spent another year before release to the market. The grapes are grown on the estate's historic Catena Zapata Family Vineyards. - Community Wine Reviews
