Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From Italy's beautiful Venezie, consistent quality in this refreshing, crisp Pinot Grigio. Delicate pear aromas with white tree fruit on palate and hint of lemon on the refined finish. Enjoy with friends at your favourite outdoor cafe.
Tasted June 2017
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This is Gabbiano's example of simple, fresh, food-friendly Pinot Grigio. It comes from the Venezie area of northeast Italy and pretty much embodies the classic style that is popular now.
The bottle is tinted slightly blue, as many whites are nowadays, to make it look greener - fresher.
It does have some greeness, when you get it out of the bottle. A sunny yellow colour. Quite pale.
It has pleasant citrus and pear aromatics. Very crisp. Some green pea, vanilla, and lemon zest on the nose too.
The flavours are very cheerful. It is dry, zesty, and with an acidic snap on the finish keeping your palate clean.
Clean, fresh, uncomplicated, and easy-drinking. What more could you possibly ask for? These would be great with seabass and chili sauce, or maybe some fresh shrimp.
Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

The Castello di Gabbiano estate is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany. The historical “castello” dates back from the 12th century but has been restored into a spectacular hotel which includes its own restaurant, a swimming pool, as well as the winery itself and over 100 hectares of vines and olive groves. All the wine making work is done on the premises so guests also witness the whole process from picking grapes to bottling.
This wine is 92% Pinot Grigio blended with 8% Chardonnay to round up the mouth feel.
The grapes are sourced from the Delle Venezie appellation, a Northern Italian area famous for creating crisp Pinot Grigios.
Lovely silvery yellow color with an exuberance of citrus aromas and a slight tough of freshly ground nutmeg.
Zesty, light and vivacious on the palate with a juicy acidity.
Very high “guzzling” factor and the perfect complement to seafood!
