Are you looking for the perfect red wine to pair with a traditional Italian homemade lasagna? Maybe in this review you will find it: Castellani Poggio al Casone “La Cattura” 2010 Toscana IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica)is a valid companion for this kind of Italian dish or even a good barbecue in your backyard. "La Cattura" is a very original blend from Tuscany , made of 85% Teroldego and 15% Syrah. The first grape is mainly harvested in the North East of Italy, in a region called Trentino Alto Adige in an area named “Campo Rotaliano”, in the Province of Trento . The wine has a particular ruby color not so high in concentration. The aroma is intense and fruity and the notes of raspberry and white pepper are very evident. Syrah, instead, is found in Tuscany , in the area around Cortona, one of the best places to harvest in Italy, it has more body than Teroldego and its presence in this wine gives more structure and the typical aroma of berries and pepper. The final result is a blend with an aroma mainly dominated by plums and velvets, pepper and vanilla (the wine is refined for 12 months in oaked barrels).

Colour: Purple red with a ruby tip.
Consistency: Consistent.
Olfactory examination:
Intensity: Intense.
Complexity: Moderately complex.
Quality: Fine.
Description: Fruity (plum notes,) floral (velvet), spicy (white pepper, vanilla).
Taste olfactory examination:
Dry, moderately warm and moderately smooth, moderately fresh in acids, with a balanced presence of tannins and moderately sapid. “La Cattura” is a balanced wine that reveals a good intensity and persistence after you drink it. Full body wine highly recommended for Lasagna and pasta with meatballs. Ready to drink, it is a very friendly wine not so complex, particularly good for a barbecue with friends.
