Extremely tannic: needs cellar time. Don't rush this baby, and you'll be rewarded. Black chary fruit and toasty oak with lots of body and layered complexity. Decant 2 hours when you (finally) do open it (please). Pair with game meats and truffle-inflected dishes.

Brunello di Montalcino food pairings: grilled steak, roast leg of lamb, hard cheese, veal piccata.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

@FrescobaldiVini Gorgeous Brunello! Decant 2-4 hours. Deep garnet colour with flecks of ruby. The bouquet features blackberries, cherries, anise, tobacco for days and a nice cedar wood spice note lingering. Scrumptious mouthfeel is grippy but well polished and integrated balancing the fruit and spice notes. Medium plus acidity, body and tannins. This is still young and can age 5+. Dry and very well balanced. Pair with a holiday meal, veal parmigiana and antipasto. Enjoy!
Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

very lifted aromas of forest floor and red flowers. Well structured. Needs 4 - 6 yrs.
