From the Piedmont wine region, Cascina Chicco Rocche Di Castelletto 2017 Barolo is a savoury 100% Nebbiolo produced from grapes sourced from vineyards with a South-west exposure which is particularly suited to the Nebbiolo grape. Fragrant with rose petals, violets, red cherry, red currant, dried sweet tobacco, sous bois, savoury herb and pepper spice aromas and flavours, it is elegant and fresh on the palate. Tannins are fine-grained and very approachable now. Drink or cellar to 2030.

Barolo food pairings: roast game meats, lamb kebabs, meaty lasagne.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This is a well balanced Barolo, made from 100% Nebbiolo from the Piedmont region. Aromas of tart cherry, dried strawberries, and currants, with notes of sweet tobacco, graphite, dried herbs and campfire smoke. Medium bodied, with vibrant acidity, and dry tannins, balancing well with tart and ripe red berry notes, peppery spices, and more sweet herbal hints on the finish. Lovely! Enjoy with pan-seared duck or veal.
