A rich, full-bodied Chilean red wine made from the country's signature red wine grape Carmenere. Aromas of dark fruit and smoke. Made from grapes grown in the Rapel Valley that are hand-harvested in May. The grapes were crushed and de-stemmed in stainless steel tanks. The wine was aged in French oak barrels for 10 months. Pair with roast beef. Tremendous value.

Carmenère food pairings: wine-braised beef, turkey with heavy sauces, wild boar, bison chili.

Reviews and Ratings

Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Smoky on the nose, this smooth deep red has notes of cloves, tobacco and a hint of cedar and cinnamon. A pairing with the smoked Balderson cheddar is quite delicious!
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Smooth chocolate and plum aromas with some blackberry and cherry as well. The palate it's smooth and balanced with just a touch of tannin and flavors of plum and cherry. A very rich, opulent wine.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Smokey and spicy on the nose. Lots of warm earthy notes, and ripe berries. Medium to full bodied, spice and fruit flavours are predominant on the palate, more spice on the finish. Slightly grippy tannin and nice bright acidity. Try this with beef or lamb.
Rob rated this wine as 83/100
