Vintages Wine Panel: This Primitivo (aka Zinfandel) is rich with aromas and flavours of dried fruit, blackcurrant and cherry. It is concentrated, complex and nicely balanced by very soft tannins. The added intensity is achieved by the process called Doppio Passo, or double step. After the wine has been made, the winemakers add bunches of grapes that were left to dry to a raisin-like state on the vine, causing a second fermentation and creating a wine with increased richness and intensity. My note: Purple plum liqueur that tastes somewhat sweet because the fruit is so ripe even though this is a dry wine. Full-bodied and smooth: a river of pleasure for barbecued hamburgers with all the fixins.

Primitivo food pairings: barbeque hamburgers.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
