Reviews and Ratings

Matt rated this wine as 92/100
Carola Price rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Clear and bright garnet to core.
Earthy nose with some berry fruits in the nose. Medium bodied with some jammy blueberry and cherry in the mouth. It can lean to overly ripe, sweet fruit but should stand up well to BBQ beef ribs and glazed Teriyaki pork roast with lots of bitter steamed greens.
Drink now to 2 years

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

A very deeply colored wine. This is a blend of Shiraz, petite Verdot and Mourvèdre from South Africa. Very fruit forward and on the sweeter side. Aromas of smoky cedar and caramel with a hint of Dr. Pepper (!) and also some earthiness. Sweeter than expected on the palate but with some acidity. Finish is fairly short. Try this with ribs or other barbecue.
Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

The 2012 Inception Deep Layered Red, a blend of 81 % Shiraz, 10% Petit Verdot and 9% Mourvedre that matured in 300 L barrels for 12 to 14 months, has appealing aromas of toasted oak reminiscent of Quertannin, cherry/black cherry cola, stems together with subtle lees and green pepper notes. It is a medium bodied, off-dry, fruity wine; with checked acidity, refined tannins (decant for 15 min) and a medium finish. Drink at a party or with food; drink now to 2018 (screw cap enclosure). Rated this party favorite at 85 pts. Tasted in Apr/14.
