Sweet aromas of ripe raspberry and strawberry as well as leather, cedar, and hints of black licorice and coffee. On the palate, it is medium bodied with tart plum flavours and notes of espresso and black pepper at the finish. This wine is well balanced with smooth tannins and easy to drink.

Wine-Food Pairing: Beef roast in a black pepper rub.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lovely! A nicely balanced Chianti with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, with an earthy hint and some smoke on the nose. Medium bodied with medium + acidity, and a nice balance of fruit, smoke, earth and spice all playing well together. Enjoy with a rustic stew, or hearty tomato based pasta.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Dark ruby in colour with aromas of plum, raspberry, black cherry, smoke and dark fruit jam. It is medium bodied with well balanced acidity and tannins. It has flavours of plum, tart cherry, raspberry with a hint of smoke. This will pair well with tomato based pasta dishes. Tasted on September 16, 2018.
