Lots of mocha and dark chocolate on the nose from generous, but balanced oak aging. Some black fruit underneath and mouth-watering juiciness for a wide range of dishes from steak to grilled pork chops. Make a splash with Cannonball at your next potluck gathering. This Californian red wine features bing cherry, fig, spice, anise and dark chocolate on the nose. Pair with a pepper steak.

Merlot food pairings: pork chops, turkey, grilled seafood, beef, coq au vin.

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lots of ripe raspberry, blackcurrant, plum, vanilla and sweet spice in this smooth and silky Sonoma Merlot. Enjoy with grilled pork chops.

Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This wine is less about the aromatics and more about the flavours. Medium weight on the palate, plush smooth and plummy with ample oak.
Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Smells like black cherry cola! On the palate, it is very rich with very little tannin and medium acidity. Almost creamy in texture. Tastes of cherry, raspberry, blackberry, cigar box, vanilla, a hint of and smoke.
This medium-plus bodied, Californian Merlot from Cannonball is consistently good and a real crown pleaser. Look for a dark chocolate and smoky nose with dried dark fruit, cedar box, savoury and sweet spice on this smoky red. The 2014 vintage was spectacular. Enjoy now and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
