Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Sweet dark fruit on the nose and palate. This is a great crowd pleaser that'd be ideal at your summer BBQ to complement grilled burgers or steaks. Enjoy 2016-2018. Tated July 2016. 88 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
From Wyse Family Wines, Calliope Figure 8 Red is a medium-bodied Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon blend. The wine is named after the Calliope Hummingbird, the smallest avian migrant in the world. Tiny but tough, it winters in Mexico and during breeding season, summers in the Pacific Northwest, particularly, the Thompson Nicola and Okanagan Valley region. With its quick 'figure 8' movements, they have been known to chase birds as big as the Red-tailed Hawk from their breeding territory. Good thing that the 2014 Calliope wine is more approachable, a fragrant, fruity wine with lush dark fruit and a touch of spice. But like the hummingbird itself, very elegant. - Community Wine Reviews
