An incredible value for the price! This tasty red bursts with juicy ripe berries and plums. Some dark spices on the finish. It's rich, smooth and full-bodied. This would be a "wow" party wine and you won't break the bank.

Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The 2008 Caliterra Bio Sur Carmenere Reserva Especial is a medium bodied, fruity to integrated wine, with notes of smoke and green pepper on the nose and blackberry, black cherry and more green pepper on the palate. It has refined tannins (decant for 30 min) and the finish is medium and a bit alcoholic. Drink now as the screw cap enclosure disallows aging. My impression: NOTHING SPECIAL to NICE, 88 pts - good for lovers of greenage, especially at $13. Tasted Oct/11.
Rob Dueckman rated this wine as 82/100 with the following review:

Good deal
Needs red meat.
Caliterra Bio Sur is a transitional organic wine, meaning it is in the process of becoming 100% organic! The packaging is Eco Friendly as well! Labels are made of 100% recycled fibre, chlorine free and certified for FSC for sustainable forest management.

It has a wonderful deep red colour with fruity aromas of violet and blackberry. A full-bodied palate makes the Bio-Sur Carménère a tasty and silky wine, complemented with a slight touch of cedar essence and intermingled with flower and cacao notes.
