Buried Cane 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is great value at $20. A dry, full-bodied and zesty Cab produced by the Middleton family who have been making wine since 1898, the name for this wine refers to a technique employed in cold-climate, wine-growing regions whereby vines are covered in earth to protect and hibernate them over the winter. Generous with ripe dark fruits, raspberry, baking spice, savoury herbs and smoky flavours supple on the palate, enjoy it through 2028.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: meat-lover's pizza, herb-rubbed roast chicken, hearty soups.

Grapes for this vintage were sourced from the Columbia Valley wine region. Look for ripe dark cherry, blackberry, crushed raspberry, cocoa and subtle toasty, smoky and spicy flavours balanced with fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins on the palate. Enjoy it now through 2027. - Community Wine Reviews
