Firm tannins on the palate. Juicy and savoury. Hickory woodsmoke on the nose and palate from generous oak aging. Some blackcurrant and cassis on the palate. This would benefit both from cellar aging and decanting 2 hours. Pair with a rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: pork tenderloin, hodge-podge, grilled burgers, Margherita pizza.

Burgess (2013) is a robust and big Cabernet Sauvignon from California's Napa Valley. On the nose, the wine is showing hickory woodsmoke from generous oak aging. Some blackcurrant and cassis on the palate. This would benefit both from cellar aging and decanting 2 hours. Pair with a rare steak. This wine does need some cellar time and will improve over the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews
