Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a blend of Tannat, Cab Sauv and Cab Franc. Dark garnet red with a nose of ripe blackberry, dark cassis and some meaty notes. The palate shows ripe dark berries and inky, chalky, earthy flavours. Full-bodied with a long chalky ripe fruit finish.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Full-bodied with deep inky ruby colour. Awarded 90 Points from Wine Spectator this red blend of Tannat, Cab Sauv, Cab Franc has aromas and flavours of black fruit, black earth, leather and smoke. A rustic wine with good acid to fruit ratio. Long tannic finish. This wine will reward you in 3-5 years. Enjoy today by decanting 2 or more hours.
Tasted: June 2015
Madiran wines from southern French need a few years of aging in the bottle smooth their tannins and bring the wines together. This is a robust red wine blend of 40% Tannat, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc grapes. The vines are planted in calcerous soils hills with sandstone. The wine undergoes 3-6 weeks of fermentation and then it's aged in French oak barrels. Spicy finish. - Community Wine Reviews
