Reviews and Ratings

Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Once upon a time, while vacationing in Germany, a British girl fell in love with a German boy and as they say, the rest is history!!! The girl is Jill and the boy is Stefan and together, along with their 2 sons and daughter, they are Bollig-Lehnert, a family estate responsible for some of the best Rieslings from Trittenheim in Germany’s Mosel valley.
With connections to viticulture as far back as the 17th Century, the emphasis on quality and tradition remains today. Since taking over the family business from his father in 1987, Stefan has been running the estate and carefully crafting Rieslings of purity from some of the best sites in the Mosel.
Truly a small operation, the family tends to the 6.5 hectares of vineyards themselves and at harvest, a couple of family friends come to lend a hand.
The name Bollig-Lehnert might be new on the Canadian market but it is one to remember the next time you want to drink exceptional Rieslings described by Jill as German quality with a British flair!
This 100% Riesling Kabinett, hails from their Goldtropfchen parcel of vineyards in the town of Piesporter in the Mosel Valley.
In the glass, it is a pale silvery yellow.
The nose is exuberant with honey, clover blossoms, ripe freshly cut green apple and a touch of spice.
On the palate, it is as fresh as a cool shower after a long summer hike through fragrant flowery fields! The acidity is bright and vibrant, accompanied by honey, green apple notes and just the slightest hint of nutmeg.
Extremely yummy!
Absolutely perfect for Thai chili chicken, spicy crab rolls or a pink grapefruit and grilled scallops salad!
