Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Bodegas Navajas Crianza 2016 is an attractive Spanish wine from the Rioja valley. The wine shows aromas of sugarplum, fig, black pepper, pastrami, cigar box, vanilla and cedar. Made from Tempranillo, this fruity Crianza offers a medium body, silky tannins and lovely acidity. The finish is long and delivers layers of sour cherry, dried blackberry, black pepper, cigar box, dark chocolate, vanilla and cedar. Enjoy!
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This is an excellent price point for a bold wine with aromas of cherries and blackberry along with hints of vanilla, cedar and spice. Full bodied, with youthful, grippy tannins and bright acidity on the palate, the berry notes are rich and ripe with a dry, smokey and spicy finish. Enjoy with any grilled meats.
Grape Variety: 95% Tempranillo 5% Mazuelo
Hand-picked between the last week of September and the first fortnight of October.
Ageing: After malolactic fermentation, the wine is clarified and filtered, rests in American and French oak barrels, where it remains for a minimum of 12 months. After this barrel ageing, it is then bottled and aged in our bottle cellar until it release.

Tasting note: Morello cherry red with violet highlights, nice balance of acidity and fruitiness.
Broad on the palate, with soft but well-structured tannins, rounded, long, with fine and pleasant finish.
