Natalie's Score: 92/100 Stunning depth and richness in this Spanish red wine. Although it weighs in at 16% alcohol, it doesn't taste hot as it's got great balance. Very luxurious on the palate like liquid velvet. Aromas of fleshy ripe black plums.
Grenache food pairings: veal stew with sautéed vegetables, roast quail wrapped in prosciutto, beef bourguignon, grilled tuna with a pepper crust, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review: WOW! Rich and complex. Cocoa, mint, dark cherry-fig-blackberry, eucalyptus, pepper and grippy tannin, caramel. Expensive but delivers - just disappointed its not in my everyday budget. Would make a fantastic gift for a wine lover.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review: oh wow, this is a big wine. A touch too sweet for my palate but it is rich, silky, and the finish goes forever on your palate. Definitely, a wine that needs to pair with rich dishes
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review: Purple in colour with aromas of plum, blackberry, raspberry, black cherry, violet and ink. It is full bodied with well balanced acidity and tannins which are well integrated with the alcohol, which is impressive given this is 16%. It has flavours of ripe dark berries, baking spice, plum and cassis leading into a long fruit finish. This will pair well with grilled red meats. Tasted on May 6, 2018.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: This is a great big, broad Garnacha. Deep inky and voluptuous. Rich stewed cassis, raspberry, dried cherries, roses and spiced pepper heat traveling into nostril lane. Flavours are equally as full featuring dried light plums, raspberry balsamic glaze and peppered smoked meat. Dangerously good! Pair with pork roast and full bodied cheeses. 91 points. Tasted - May 6, 2018
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Stewed plums on the nose with ripe cherry and chocolate notes on the palate. Full bodied with lots of fruit forward flavors. Tasted May 2018.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: A big, generous, and inviting wine from Bodegas Alto Moncayo. This wine saw 20 months in new oak, but really it is so rich that it can stand up to it. Inky purple and glass-coating (it is also a whopping 16% alcohol natural). Lots of mediterranean dried herbs, which remind on a lot of Languedoc and Roussillon (like Costieres de Nimes). Juicy black plum amd black currants. Ultra ripe. It is still very fresh on the finish too. Plenty of acidity. Pait it with aged steak, or cassoulet.
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: On the nose, this Red is fragrant with plum, raspberry, vanilla, and floral aromas. It is expressive on the palate with blackcurrant flavours, as well as vanilla, caramel, black pepper, and sharp espresso notes at the finish. Tasted May 2018
