Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This is Black Widow winery's signature blend, comprised of 67% Merlot and 33% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in French oak barrels (about 40% new) for 21 months. Aromas of black currant, plum and black cherry on the nose, mingled with warm oak, smoke and a hint of vanilla and spice. Full bodied on the palate, with firm, yet structured tannins, bold, deep berry notes with a note of balancing acidity. Lovely, enjoy with a grilled steak.
Our signature red is once again a blend of Merlot (67%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (33%),
most of which is Estate grown. Harvested late October at 23.3 Brix. Barrel aged in
French Oak barriques, of which 50% were new, for 21 months. Many awards over the
years, including Best in Class – Double Gold at the All Canadian Wine Championships.
Generally rated 92 points or higher. Non-fined, non-filtered – decanting is
recommended. - Black Widow Winery Winemaker Notes

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
