Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Recently I attended a book signing about French red wines. At the function there were some wonderful looking samples of wines for us to try and many people were oohing and ahhing over the glassfulls of reds and whites on offer.

I shall be the first to admit that I truly thought that the wines would be rather expensive, so can you realise my enormous surprise when my favourite wine, I discovered, was $20.45 usually and at the moment in the SAQ it is a bargain at $18.20!!!!!.. Stop the press...run to the liquor commission!

This is quite a light red in the glass.

On the nose there was a delightful presence of sweet red fruits, strawberries, cherries and then plum jam. There was a floral violet tone.

On the palate the fruits developed and revealed more after about an hour of breathing.
Delicate fruits, including black berries, cherries and then strawberry jam was present with a touch of plum. Floral blossom and violets made a short introduction. As the fruits subsided there was a vegetal green pepper tone . Spices of Cinamon intermingled with oak barrel notes. Leather and mocha wrapped up this delightful wine.
This is a dry, fruity wine with good tannins and a good length.

Bottoms up!
