I am in love with South African Chenin Blanc! There is nothing else like it, and as far as I'm concerned no one (yes France, I'm looking at you), does it better. Aromas of white peach, almonds and exotic happiness. Almost full-bodied and brimming with character.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I was blown away by this Chenin from Bellingham. This wine features aromas and flavours of toasted cashew, tropical fruit, caramel, and baking spice along with a strong core of baked golden delicious apple. I'm 91 on this wine. (ottawawinejournal.com)
Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Golden in colour, this complex wine has flavours of pineapple, peach, ripe apple, butter, vanilla, cloves, hazelnut, and smoke.
Rich body and balancing acidity carry the intense flavours on the long, warming finish.
Drink now, or cellar until 2017.
Pair with pungent cheeses, grilled shrimp, or enjoy on its own.
Date tasted: April 1014.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep lemon colour. Developing aromas and flavours of peach, apricot, apple, butter, vanilla, smoke, nuttiness, warm spices. Beautifully rich and smooth.
A medium+ acidity balances the luscious flavours in this Chenin Blanc.
Long length on the warm, mouth coating finish.
Preferred mine a little warmed up to allow all the nuances of this wine to shine. Worth the $22.95 price tag.
Pair with seafood, grilled chicken or patio sipper.
Drink now thru 2017.
Tasted: April 2014
This boutique series is named to honour the one-of-a-kind spirit of founder Bernard Podlashuk, and the wines themselves express something inimitable. The Old Vine Chenin Blanc offers up rich tropical fruit accented by toasty notes. The palate is round, but fresh and beautifully integrated. A hefty wine with seamless structure and composure. Impressive. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Feb. 2013
