Dark fruit and mint aromas on the nose of this benchmark red wine that are engulfed by a flood of fleshy blackberries aromas and flavours on the palate. Quite a pleasant sensation. Full-bodied and luscious Shiraz. Supple with a long finish. This wine would be terrific with hearty meat dishes. A toasty finish.

Chianti Classico food pairings: goose, black bean soup, pork with soy, pot roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Bright garnet red with fragrant cherry, vanilla and a mouth-watering fruity palate. Made for food!
Tasted Jan. 2017
Barone Ricasoli's Castello Di Brolio Gran Selezione (2013) is a Chianti Classico made from Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes from the estate's vineyards. The vineyards are 250 to 450 metres above sea level, grapes enjoy south to southwest exposure to slowly, evenly and fully ripen wine grapes. Look for bright red plum, raspberry and mocha flavours from the medium-bodied Chianti Classico. - Community Wine Reviews
