Vintages Wine Panel: This wine won a Gold Medal at the 2009 San Diego International Wine Competition. Col di Sasso translates as “stony hill”, a reference to the rocky slopes where this wine is grown — and a name that makes sense when you taste this minerally, earthy blend. These landscape-imparted nuances are joined by aromas and flavors of currants, red plum, and ripe cherries. My note: Simple, rustic, robust and tasty. Bursting with rich dark berries and other fruit. Smoky and peppery. Knock it back.

Cabernet Sauvignon Sangiovese food pairings: gourmet pizza, cheese-based pasta dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Very french in style. Pepper, currants, light mint and strawberries define this wine. Herbs and maraschino cherries on the finish. I'm 88 on this wine. (ottawwinejournal.com)

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
