Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Don't let the modern styling of the label fool you; this is classic Pomerol through and through. Dried roses and floral, ripe black cherry, and plum in the elegant nose. Firm tannins with soft edges complement good acidity and medium body. Youthful, takes a moment of breathing to find the dark fruits behind the gentle oak, vanilla, cocoa, and smoke on the palate and through the finish. Enjoy now through the 2020's with beef Wellington.
Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Beautifully rich and seductive with evident notes of black fruit, cassis, leather and cigar, yet elegant in its development and flavour. It’s everything you could ask for from a Pomerol, and a great representation of the region at a decent price point for quality. The tannins are smooth for a young Bordeaux, and unlike many other wines from this region, this 2014 is ready to drink, and doesn’t drink too young even now. You might want to decant it for 30 minutes before serving to soften the tannins and let the flavours of fruit, game and earth emerge.
Badine De La Patache 2014 is a rich and full-bodied 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc red wine blend from Pomerol. This lush red is coming around nicely with ripe red cherry, plum, earthy violets and mocha espresso flavours. Silky on the palate finishing long with savoury flavours. Drink now but the wine is also a great cellaring candidate. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
