So in love with Chardonnay again. I thought we had broken up permanently, but turns out if was only a minor break. Aromas of peach and toasted almond and an end-of-the-week Friday night sigh ;)

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Brilliant and bright golden cool climate Chardonnay. Declared 13.5% ABV. Tasting this wine was an elegant experience in balance, integration, terroir and excellence. The 2011 vintage from this small lot vineyard offers purity and finesse with every sip. Tasted after opening to breathe for an hour. Perfection in balance and integration. Blood orange, nectarine, blanched almond, vanilla on the nose and palate. A long finish with persistence of nectarine and almond. Medium plus body. Supple and smooth. Thomas Bachelder and his team have expressed the Twenty Mile Bench terroir with elegance and expertise in this bottle. Exceptionally smooth and tasty. Share this beautiful wine with a special occasion such as a festive turkey dinner, seasonal barbeque chicken, grilled prawn kebabs. Drinking easily on its own for those who enjoy a quality Chardonnay. Tasted April 2017. 94 points.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Fresh, vibrant and delicious! Aromas show intense lemon drop, white peach, young pineapple and toasted almond notes. Flavours are crisp and clean showing juicy citrus (lemon and white grapefruit), white peach and shaved almonds and dried coconut. A lovely full bodied Chardonnay that would pair very well Ta green Thai shellfish curry. Tasted April 2017.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Fruit sourced from the "Ouest" block of the Wingfield Vineyard of Wismer Vineyards, the absolute favourite block of grapes of winemaker extraordinaire Thomas Bachelder. This magnificent Chardonnay is showing brilliantly. Such intensity and concentration. Powerful aromas of lemon rind and wet stone followed by complexities of cream, butter, vanilla, and toasted almond. An immaculate balance of crisp acidity and creamy texture. Full and rich, this is a special wine. Perfect for turkey or creamy salmon dishes.
