Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of baked apple, almond, and a little foxy on the nose. Medium-bodied and creamy on the palate with flavours of lemon, Macintosh apple, and white peppercorn. It has crisp acidity and is nicely balanced.

Pair with chicken in a cream sauce.

Tasted at the Pure Discovery New Zealand Wine event in Ottawa May 2019.
Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This estate grown Chardonnay is a medium body wine. With fruit forward notes, there is a deeper nutty and leather finish. Would be delicious paired with roasts bird or to sip with light flavoured cheeses.

Tasted May 9, 2019
The Chardonnay wine grapes for Babich Black Label Chardonnay 2017 are estate-grown and sourced from Gimblett Rd, Eskdale and Fernhill Vineyards in Hawkes Bay. This is a dry, medium-bodied Chardonnay with ripe peach, red apple and nutty flavours on the palate. Chill and enjoy on its own or pair with roast turkey. - Community Wine Reviews
