Produced from Garnacha (Grenache) Tintorera and Monastrell grapes planted in Spain's Almansa wine region from vineyards 1000 metres above sea level, this is a dry, medium-plus-bodied, juicy and velvety red wine blend with concentrated blueberry, dark plum, black raspberry, earthy florals and vanilla flavours wrapped up with a lingering spicy finish. Enjoy now with a grilled pork tenderloin.

Food pairings: meat pizza, grilled portobello mushroom burgers, lamb Bolognese, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Delicious Spanish wine made by Bodegas Atalaya, the Laya 2018 shows delicious aromas of roasted plum, prune, black pepper, leather, dark chocolate and vanilla. Harvested in Almansa and blended from Garnacha and Monastrell, this full-bodied wine delivers polished tannin, discrete acidity and an appealing finish. Palate: dark skin plum, prune, black pepper, clay pot, leather, dark chocolate and pie crust. Enjoy!
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of blackberry, plum and raspberry along with hints of smoke and spice. Full bodied, with dry, dusty tannins, lots of blackberry and blueberry notes on the palate with a smoky finish. Enjoy with grilled ribs or pork tenderloin.
