Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Very interesting Sauv Bl... Something I'd describe as the closest resemblance of a Loire Valley gem by a New World (ahem Ontario) wine producer. A classic and sophisticated Sauv Bl with layers upon layers of fresh orchard fruit, tropical fruit, citrus, mineral earthiness, and a refreshingly subdued green/herbaceous aromas. On the palate, it sits heavier than most Sauvs - medium bodied with a rich & oily mouthfeel. Key flavours include: lemon zest, yellow delicious apple, honeydew melon, green pineapple, a touch of wild flower honey and minerally (steely) notes. All complete with luscious high acidity and a medium lemony finish. Absolutely pair with fish tacos (extra guac)!
Produced by Peller Estates Niagara, this Niagara white wine is made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes with the wild yeast fermentation and free-run juice. About 85% of the wine was matured sur lie for 12 months in French oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
