Reviews and Ratings

Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Amber in colour with aromas of roasted nuts, vanillia and toffee. It is rich and sweet with flavours of toffee and vanilla. This will go well after dinner on its own or with cheesecake drizzled in caramel. A terrific value for a dessert wine. Tasted on March 11, 2018.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

The sweet version of Whiskey.…
Presentation: A label that looks like it came straight from the Magna Carta
Appearance: Deep tawny
Nose: Pronounced nose with notes of eucalyptus and wet wood
Taste: Sweet, full body, low acidity, low tannins, and notes of eucalyptus soap and wet wood
Finish: long sweet eucalyptus finish
Overall impression: An acquired taste, admittedly. If you like Whiskey, this could be the sweet version
Value: 3/5
Alvear produces a non-vintage Cream Sherry which creamy, nutty and sweeter than Oloroso Sherry. - Community Wine Reviews
