Gorgeous aromas of smoky brambleberry and briar patch, cedar brush and feral forest scents. These grapes are picked and vinified in small lots and aged 14 months in oak barrels. Complex and well-structured. Not jammy. Long finish. Classic and agable. Pair with filet mignon.

Zinfandel food pairings: big bold flavors, try a pepper crusted steak.

Reviews and Ratings

The 2013 growing season was almost identical to 2012. The year began with another dry winter and spring, then throughout the summer we experienced a warm growing season with abundant sunshine and even growing temperatures. Our grapes ripened evenly and proceeded at a fairly quick pace. While news of the lack of rain dominated conversations, there was an upside to the drought; the grapes had more concentrated flavors than in 2012.
In the glass this is a concentrated dark purple wine with spicy aromas of blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, plum dark chocolate and vanilla. There is mouth filling texture with spicy flavors of blueberry, black pepper and dark fruits. Kevin Hall says: “the 2013 is a big, rich wine with a long finish”.
