Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A mouth full of minted chocolate and blueberry crumble. Rich and laden with flavour. Tannins are firm but ripe and the wine would benefit with decanting. Try with cumin spiced lamb cutlets with caramelised onion mashed potato. @wrightwineblog
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Inky purple in the glass this Washington Merlot delivers a smooth but gripping burst of black plum on the palate. Tannins very much in play. Enjoy with BBQ ribs. Tasted January 2020. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A full-bodied Merlot with a most interesting silver label- any pilots to impress? Dark fruit and berry aromas with medium tannins and acidity. Hints of chocolate on the finish. Pair with red meat- veal, beef or lamb.
From the Yakima Valley, Airfield Estates 2015 is a full-bodied, estate-bottled Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec red wine blend. Plushy on the palate with blackberry, dark plum, earthy, mocha and sweet spice flavours. Tannins are grippy. Pair with a pork tenderloin Wellington. The site of a flight school during World War II, Airfield Estates Vineyard was first planted with grapes in 1968. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
