Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Enticing nose on this Bordeaux blend that begs a sip. Sweet cigar box off the top with secondary aromas of strawberry, cherry, toast and cedar. The palate is light and smooth fresh strawberry, tobacco leaf and cleansing cool vintage acidity. Very quaffable red wine that hits perfectly at $19.95. Enjoy with a nice cut of Prime Rib and your sweetheart.

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

13th Street Winery's 2013 Cabernet Merlot is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc, sourced from vineyards in the Creek Shores and Niagara-on-the-Lake appellations of the Niagara Peninsula. A very expressive wine with dark cherry, spicy plum, vanilla, sweet pipe tobacco, dried herbs and cedar on the nose and palate. Very approachable now, with a soft texture and refreshing mouthfeel. Dark cherry, plum, and spicy brambleberry persist on the finish. Pair this value priced wine with confidence by serving alongside BBQ'd burgers or charcoal grilled tenderloin knowing it will be enjoyed by all. Tasted March 2017. 90 points. This cool climate blend is 70% Cab and 30% Merlot and declared at 13.5% ABV. Tart cherry, tobacco leaf and a hint of blackberry. Balanced medium alcohol , medium tannins, acidity and fruit. Tasted 2013 vintage in March 2017. 89 points. BespokeTastings
This Canadian Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot red wine blend from the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario wine region has a pronounced nose of fresh green herbs, black currant, vanilla and toasty oak. It is a medium weight wine with good acidity to ripe blackberry fruit. - Community Wine Reviews
