Reviews and Ratings

Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Somerston, previously known as two individual parcels, Soda Valley (Priest ranch) and Elder Valley (Lynch vineyards), is located high in the hills above Napa Valley. They have over 200 acres planted on elevations of 850 to 2400 feet above sea level and their vineyard is divided into 87 individual blocks to represent their various soils.
The eastern part of the Somerston property was originally settled by a 23 year old named Joshua James Priest who arrived in California in 1849.
The winery has been recently remodeled and is now sustainably operated.
It is very unusual to find a Grenache Blanc but beware! You might get hooked!
The wine is a light straw yellow color with silver hues.
The nose is intense and floral with some melon, peach and caramel aromas.
On the palate, it is unctuous and expansive with ripe pears, little minerality and almond extract notes. Quite odd to say for a white wine but there is a little tannin here with crisp acidity.
An absolute “Coup de Coeur” for me, a definite must-try… If you dare!

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
