Argentine winemaker Susana Balbo seems to have the golden touch when it comes to a wide range of styles and wines, from this delightful floral white wine to her more robust Malbecs. The Black Chook Shiraz Viognier 2015, Mclaren Vale, South Australia, Australia: Aromas of blackberry preserves, blackcurrant jam lusciousness with some mint. Layers and layers and layers of pleasure. Eyes closed kinda wine. Some violets and cedar on this finish. Highly recommended. Loaded with fleshy ripe dark berries and vanilla spice from toasty oak aging. This is Reif's take on the nouveau style wines made famous in the Beaujolais region of France, except this one is made from the Kerner grape. Fresh fresh and vibrant. Fleshy ripe cherry aromas and flavours on the palate of this medium-bodied, mouth-watering Pinot Noir from Niagara. Very respected winemaker. Pair with salmon or tuna. Lovely craftsmanship.
