Fabre Montmayou Gran Reserva, Vistalba Malbec 2010, Mendoza, Argentina: Seductive blackberries and fleshy black plums, full-bodied with gorgeous velvet texture. Spice and cedar smoke on a long and persistent finish. A beautiful expression of Mendoza malbec. The grapes are grown on vines that are over 80 years old in Vistalba and Las Compuertas regions, and they're cropped at 35 hectoliters per hectare, which is low, and aged in French barrel for 12 months. Yum! Drink: 2012-2016. 279802 15% D 750 mL  $25.95 Score: 91/100. August 17, 2013 Voluptuous Veal Wine Full Review
Trapiche Fincas Las Palmas Malbec 2011, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina: A lively Malbec with intriguing aromas of black raspberry, bacon and vanilla smoke. Concentrated and powerful with polished tannins. Ready to drink now, but will also do well with a few years in the cellar. Absolutely delicious especially at this price! This wine cries out to be on your table beside prime rib. Let your mouth have some fun tonight! Drink: 2013-2016. 186668 14% D 750 mL  $16.95 Score: 92/100. June 27, 2015 Best Value Red Wine. Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz 2011, Padthaway, South Australia, Australia: Full-on, big red wine with glorious black cherry liqueur aromas. Rich, full-bodied and delicious. Nugan Estate King Valley Frasca's Lane Chardonnay 2012, King Valley, Victoria, Australia: Love it! Zesty green apple and white peach on the nose wrapped in toasted almond of toasty oak aging. Perfectly balanced and endlessly delicious. A chardonnay for those who don't like chardonnay (and those who do). The Nugan family has been involved in viticulture for 65 years. Lovely baked bread and lemon zest on the finish. Drink: 2013-2017. 288191 13.50% D 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 92/100. June 7, 2014 Top Rated White Wine. Celebrated Chicken and Cream Sauce Wine Full Review
Mitolo Jester Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Mclaren Valle, South Australia, Australia: Here's your ultimate lamb with rosemary wine. This robust Cabernet over-delivers against its price point beautifully. I also love the Shiraz this winery makes. Full-bodied with smoky black fruit. Great concentration and depth with a good finish. Very satisfying. Crack open a bottle (or two) tonight. Mitolo G.A.M. Shiraz 2010, Mclaren Vale, South Australia, Australia: This is a powerhouse of a wine, wow! Seductively rich, black cherry liqueur runs through its black heart. Full-bodied, velvet-smooth and hedonistically satisfying. Shiraz comes from the Chinese Block vineyard which is located in the Willunga district at the southern end of McLaren Vale. Biting acidity that isn't unpleasant just a surprise. Result > needs food like steak. Pair with brontosaurus burgers and King Henry VIII-style feasts (you may not need a fork and knife for the food, but you will--almost-- for this concentrated, chewy wine). Highly recommended. Cline Cellars Ancient Vines Zinfandel 2012, Contra Costa County, California, United States: Cline's Zinfandel grapes are sourced from dry-farmed vines planted more than 100 years ago, thus deserving the name Ancient Vines. The depth and concentration of that aging vine wisdom shows in the glass. Notes of blackberry and toasty, black fruit, tar, smoke and toasty oak. Full-bodied. Perfect for BBQ meats and a campfire. This is a truly mouth-filling wine. Big, long finish like a Broadway number... it's a dazzling kick-line for the senses. Drink: 2013-2016. 719211 15% D 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 91/100.
