Schild Estate Grenache Mourvèdre Shiraz 2014, Barossa Valley, South Australia, Australia: Oh yum. Comfort me with mourvèdre and other old bush vine grapes. Rich, complex and deep Australian red wine: exactly what you want in a partner (and in a wine). Full-bodied and smooth and inviting. The Schild family has been in the Barossa Valley for more than 60 years. Lots of complexity, depth and vibrancy in this richly rewarding wine. Ritual Pinot Noir 2015, Casablanca Valley, Chile: A lovely cherry-berry rich Chilean red wine made from the classic Pinot Noir grape. Supple and smooth with good balance. Reminds me of Carneros Pinot Noir, the cool climate of the Napa Valley. This winery hand harvests in small batches in the cool morning fog of the Casablanca Valley.
