Redstone Winery Limestone Vineyard South Riesling 2012, Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: A spectacular Riesling founded by one of Niagara's best producers Tawse. This is the first Redstone Riesling release from the south block of the Limestone Vineyard, a 14-year-old sustainably farmed block on Twenty Mile Bench. The 2012 vintage was warm and it shows in the pure fruit intensity and laser focus of this wine: white peach, lime zest and a deep core of minerality. I am thrilled with this first effort from Redstone, and anxiously look forward to future vintages. Cheers! Drink: 2014-2024. 381251 10% M 750 mL $18.95 Score: 92/100. July 23, 2016

Benjamin Bridge Nova 7 2013, Gaspereau Valley, Nova Scotia, Canada: This lovely honeysuckle, apple blossom pleasure is never cloyingly sweet. It's also just slightly effervescent, enough spritz to make it refreshing and give a zip to your palate. It's a lovely pairing for the Canadian Feta Apetina, which can be crumbled by hand and is divine with virgin olive oil and some herbs. Benjamin Bridge finishes with pretty floral notes and white peaches basking in Annapolis Valley sunshine. Perfect as an after-dinner drink on its own when you don't want anything heavy, or pair it with a fruit-based dessert like fresh peaches and cream. Gérard Bertrand Côte Des Roses Rosé 2014, Languedoc, Midi A.P., France: This lovely southern French rosé is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grapes. It's elegant, yet full-bodied for rosé and very satisfying. Freshness is everything in this wine. Grenache is ideal for rosé because it matures easily and quickly, has vibrant aromatics, yet keeps its zesty acidity for food. This grape has a short vegetative cycle and yields enough for production while keeping the fresh character. The bottle for this rosé was created in a competition for students at design schools in Paris. There is actually a rose shape and cut to the glass on bottom, as well as an elegant glass stopper on the top. pair with planked salmon or seared tuna.
