Mymi Thesingingsommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Have you ever drank a wine whose grapes grew on volcanic soils???
Well, if not, you must try this one!
Vigneti del Vulture is owned by the Farnese Vini, a young winery that quickly became the leading exporting companies in Southern Italy with a production of nearly 13 million bottles.
The vineyards belonging to this estate sit on the volcanic soils of the slopes of Mount Vulture at altitudes of up to 800 metres above sea level. The area is one of Italy`s most remote and poorest.
It is made from 100% Aglianico, an Italian varietal that grows in the southern regions of Italy, mostly Basilicata and Campania.
Lovely bright purple color in the glass with enchanting aromas of cherry cake, vanilla, wet black earth and dark cocoa powder.
On the palate, it is deep and evil but in the most scrumptious way! Flavors of cappuccino, black liquorice, dried thyme, juicy ripe black cherries, lovely oak and spice rounded by velvety tannins, refreshing acidity and a lingering chocolaty finish.
This black grape deserves so much more recognition! It is absolute juicy yumminess in a bottle! So easy to drink on its own or a perfect bbq or even picnic wine!

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
