Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Clean, crisp and dry, Hester Creek's Estate Winery Golden Mile Bench Chardonnay (2022) is like a whisper on the palate. Fragrant with fresh-cut apple, pear aromas, honeysuckle, citrusy, buttery and steely mineral notes on the nose and palate, it is a zesty Chard that can take on a rich and creamy seafood dish or chicken from the grill. The winery suggests pouring it with "a light lemon prawn linguine or New England clam chowder." Tasted May 2024.

"The 2022 offering of Chardonnay was hand-picked from Block 17 of our historic Golden Mile Bench estate property. Grapes were hand-sorted and whole cluster pressed in order to maintain the high quality of the original fruit and the must was cold settled for five days."

A portion of the wine (60%) was barrel fermented in French oak barrels with the balance in stainless steel tank. The wine was aged up to 10 months with weekly battonage giving the wine its creamy, rounded mouthfeel.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
