Jennifer Havers rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, which is the first AVA (American Viticultural Area) established due to its elevation. Beause these vines are grown at higher altitude, the grapes experience a cooler and slower ripening time, helping to maintain acidity and a savoury character to the wine. Ridge has perfected working with this elevation as well the limestone and clay soils. The result is this beautifully balanced and nuanced wine. The Estate wines are typically harvested from younger vines, but show the same thoughtfulness and expertise in the winemaking. Aromas of plum, blackberry, and subtle warm spice. Full bodied, with chalky but rounded tannins and bright acidity balancing rich black fruit on the palate. Lovely. Enjoy with grilled beef or hearty portobello mushroom dishes.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
