Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Just to prove that Australia, or even McLaren Vale, is not a one note region, here we have a delicate and fruity Fiano.
Fiano is historically from Sicily and Campagnia; in places like Avellino's hills.
This version, from a solid producer of new world blockbusterish reds, is a new-world take on Fiano.
It's pale in colour. Almost bone white.
Fresh stone fruit and melon on aromatics. Some florality, which has a cornflower and slight honeyed character.
Delicate and refreshing acidity. The honey doesn't turn out as much on the palate. Much more bright peach, pear, and melon. There is a slight salinity on the finish. Overall, an interesting wine.
Part of Fiano's character is its possible link to the ancient Roman wine grape Vitis Apianum (Api/ape = associated with bees and honey). Fiano is the modern candidate because usually it shares a distinctive honey character in its youth.
This one has a whiff of it, but tends towards being ultra fruity instead.
By excluding oxygen in winemaking preserves the fruit, but may have toned down Fiano's other aromatic qualities.
That being said, it is unique and beautiful. Put this wine with perhaps some crab cakes or your favourite sushi.
