Robust and layered with black fruit and toasty oak. Stunningly great value. Pair with grilled meats. This is a full-bodied blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault grapes.

Food pairings: stuffed beef flank steak, veal liver smothered in bacon and onions, Coq-au-vin.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

You get lost in this wine, in a good way. It pulls you slowly through decadent layers of black raspberry, black plum, cassis, herbs, chocolate, espresso, and decayed flowers. Serve with oven-roasted meats. This is what you want. This, is what you need. Buy it. Drink it. Love it. Have some. 93 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This Minervois is Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Cinsault.
This would be pretty ageable. It's heavily structured - big and bold.
Aromas of cushed flowers, pencil shavings, plum, chocolate, and currants.
This has some pretty firm tannins. Raspberry, fig, plum and chocolate. Slight leathery funk from the Carignan.
Claude Gros La Condamine Paulignan (2013) is a Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault red wine blend from Minervois in the Midi wine region. Lovely notes or ripe black cherries, garrigue, spice and black olive on this robust red made in concrete tank. Lots of joy here, and at this price, buy a case. Enjoy now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews
