Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A delicate Extra Dry Prosecco made from 100% Glera varietal. Fresh aromas of apple, peach and citrus. Creamy palate gives notes of peach, apples, lime, mandarin orange and biscuit, with fine bubbles and lingering finish. Perfect for toasting.
Tasted October 2017
Malcolm Lamont - WSET Adv, CSW rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The opening wine to the Winemaker's dinner with Ruffino!

A persistant stream of bubbles on this lovely offering. Aromatic fresh fruit on the nose and palate, with citrus, and stone fruit being notable and a supportive role of biscuit and slight earthiness as well.

Salute!

Tasted October 19, 2013
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Clean crisp with a hint of fresh green apples and citrus throughout. An unexpected hint of sweetness on the finish yet still clean. Shell fish, mild fish or even potato chips would make a good match for this bubbly.

Clean, crisp, and fragrant with lively bubbles! Aromas of lemon- lime, apples and fresh- cut grass. Long nutty finish. Great value prosecco. Pair with smoked salmon pate. Tasted Dec 2017.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Sparkling and pale straw in colour with aromas of lemon, lime, honeysuckle, green apple and a hint of biscuit. A light bodied with a pleseant effervescence and some sweetness with flavours of peach, green apple and pear with a lingering dry finish. This is an excellent party wine as it will go great with appetizers or as an aperitif on its own.

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Can't go wrong with a Prosecco, well chilled, at the start of a lovely evening! This particular Prosecco was produced from grapes grown in the breathtaking area of Valdobbiadene. Not yet available for sale in Ontario, however, it was delightful just the same. The nose is full of fruit and floral notes, and bubbles of course! Lots of zesty lemon, lime, ripe pear and apple on the palate. Wonderful just on its own….
Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Crisp and fruity Prosecco vinified by a Charmat Method in the northeast of Italy. It’s bursting with aromas and flavours of green apples and lemon drops with a subtle touch of floral notes. Refreshing with fine bubbles and a lingering finish. Perfect as an aperitif or as a companion to summer salads and seafood. Serve well chilled.
Nick Onischuk - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful and bright in colour, this bubbly wine was elegant on the nose. Aromas of citrus, apples and pears also came through on the palate, with a crisp and clean finish. Tasted October 19,2013 (90/100)
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Ruffino Prosecco is a dynamic and versatile Charmat Method sparking. 11%ABV, slightly off-dry, crisp, with mouthwatering acidity, pale straw colour and fine bubbles. Aromatics of apple and peach, medium finish with persistence of stone fruit. Wonderful with or without food. Enjoy now.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This wine featured a fine mousse, with notes of stone fruit, apples, pears, and citrus zest. A soft, balanced acidity make it a perfect sipper before dinner. 89 Points. -Rachel (ottawawinejournal.com)
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Great aperitif. Beautiful straw yellow with some larger bubbles. Clean and crisp. Ripe tree fruit, citrus, a hint of biscuit. Delicate and elegant. Very nice floral finish. Not available in Ontario. Yet. Fingers crossed.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A very approachable (and value priced) Prosecco exhibiting beautiful orchard fruit and a pleasant note of fresh baked bread. Refreshing fine bubbles make this wine great on its own, yet pairs wonderfully with your favourite appetizers. This would make a great house-bubbly to keep on-hand (and chilled) for those impromptu celebrations or just to enjoy on a Friday evening. 89 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of pear, citrus and a touch of yeast. The palate offered lemon, apple, pear and some ripe peach, with a nice balance of bubbles with good acidity. Great to serve as a pre-dinner wine.
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Pretty sparkler. Fruity and floral aromas of peach, cantaloupe, and apple. Not too acidic, just a good way to quick off a fun night!
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Ruffino crafted this fruity sparkling wine with Glera grapes from the Valdobbiadene region in Italy’s Prosecco DOC appellation. In my glass, this prosecco offered a crisp, light bodied experience with primarily citrusy aromas and flavours backed by pear and green apple notes. The multitude of persistent bubble streams added pleasing texture and visual appeal to this charmat method sparkler. This Ruffino has been designed for early enjoyment so buy it then chill it and serve it as an aperitif or in a spritz or cocktail.

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

If this wine was stepping into a ring/ an octagon for a fighting match, the announcer would introduce it as Ruffino "the easeful sipping" Prosecco. Aromas and flavours are mild with mostly floral and citrus characteristics. Acidity is crisp, wine is light bodied, slightly off-dry, and refreshing. It's a very approachable wine and would be a hit a brunch!
David Skinner rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A perfect starter. The large bubbles tickle your taste buds and prepare your palate for a light lunch or robust dinner. The wine is made once each year and preserved in large refrigerated stainless steel vats until the wine maker decides it's time to make enough to ensure the market inventory is freshly made. Using the Charmat method to make small lots from the mother wine ensures that the bubbles are large (the hallmark of prosecco versus aged champagne since the longer a sparkler is aged the smaller the bubbles become).

Nice green apple notes on the nose and palate with some slight melon accents. Great acidity and is a delight on its own.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A bright crisp Prosecco with aromas of green apple, pear, and apricot. Lots of acidity, medium bubbles, and a medium acidic apple and apricot finish. A great greeter, or pairing with nearly any hors d'oeuvre.
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

When it comes to sparkling wines, Prosecco is always good value! This one from Ruffino has some nice zesty lemon and bready notes, with consistent bubbles. Food-friendly and versatile as an aperitif or with lighter salads and appetizers. Reasonably priced, so it can be opened on any different occasion without breaking the bank!
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Lightly candied citrus nose along with some apple, pear and peach.
Fine mouse with good acidity and just a touch of sweetness with simple citrus and apple notes. Serve well chilled with appetizers or as an aperitif.
Tasted Oct 2015 at Ruffino wine tasting dinner.
Pam Hatton rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Light crisp pale yellow sparkling wine. Nose of lemon and a touch of white fruit and almonds. Light body with light bubbles that cleanse the palate. Citrus and apple on the palate. Short and dry finish. Aperitif bubbles to pair with nibbles, seafood, Asian style food.
