Rich cherry-berry on the nose and palate of this luscious, full-bodied Pinot Noir with unusually high alcohol (though it doesn't taste hot). Layers of satin berry pleasure. Pair with tuna or swordfish.

Reviews and Ratings

Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby with pale garnet rim. Attractive wild strawberry, cranberry, red cherry and tea leaf aromas. Crisp, lifted acidity gives a lively character. Strawberry and herbal notes feature on the medium bodied palate. Very balanced, with smooth, silky tannins.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Beautifully delicate cherry. The palate follows the noise on this nice pinot.
Long spicy and cherry finish with soft tannins and nice acid.
Tasted April 3/16
Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Opulent levels of juicy fruit, with barely a hint of the earthy side of PN. Some tannins for aging 2017-2020
Courtney Flood rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Delicate and earthy. Cherry, raspberry, crushed granite, cranberry, parsley
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Black fruit and cedar on the nose with plum, blackberry, cedar and spice notes on the palate. Soft tannins leave a lingering finish.
Olivier de Maisonneuve rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Nice nose with a mix of fennel and cherries, and a mix of wood and fine herbs on the palate. Nice acidity and a bit of structure, make it a food friendly wine, that you'll easily match with different cuisines, as long as it's not too pronounced in flavours.
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 83/100 with the following review:

Priya: Apparently New Zealand makes a lot of pinot, I guess all I know New Zealand for is Sauvignon Blanc. Oh well, time to change that! This smells like a bowl or rich, ripe, dark berries but it tastes dry and quite bitter. Pinot noir has never been one of my preferred grapes and sadly this one doesn't change my mind on that. 84pts

Alex: Dark berry bowl and baking spices on the nose. Spicy, tart berry palate, tasty but finishes a bit harsh from the wood. 82pts
This winery sits n the original land holdings of the Martinborough founder, John Martin. At the heart is the home called "he cottage" built in the 1800s and now serves as the cellar door (winery tasting room). Polished tannins. Good cellar wine. - Community Wine Reviews
