An incredibly great Californian red wine for the price point! Smooth, supple and full-bodied, this sunshine state wine is a blend of red grapes. It offers seductive aromas and flavours of fleshy dark red fruit, a lick of spice and some toasty oak. Pair with a romantic dinner date and a no-mercy red dress (or tie).

Food pairings: steak, grilled pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Courtney Flood rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful plush aromas hit you with tons of ripe berries and creamy vanilla, anise and nutmeg spices, and white pepper. Palate is lush but with enough acidity to balance it. You can really feels the warmth in this Californian wine. Great value and good as a sipper, or with a nice juicy burger.
Astrid Young - Sommelier ISG CAPS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Nice core of red juicy fruit, cassis at the fore, red raspberry and cooked berries in the background. some forest floor notes, eucalyptus and wispy cedar. Easy drinking with good balance, showing good cab sauv character on the back end with soft tannins and some nice black fruits. Decent quaffer for a mass-produced wine, drink it up.
Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This crowd-pleaser has ripe flavours of bramble, strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and spice. The Bordeaux-and-then-some blend of grapes come together on the palate with soft tannins and balancing acidity.
Pair with short ribs, BBQ beef, or sip on its own.
Drink now or keep until 2016.
Date tasted: November 2014.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Aromas of ripe red and black cherry, bbaking spices and vanilla. The taste is similar, wih a ful bodied, smooth mouth feel and a touch of very round tannins. A nice everyday wine for foods like burger or stews.
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Here's a bottle to put on the picnic table for a large group. An easy drinking Cali wine that will go good with your next family bbq and won't break the bank. Jammy with a bit of cigar aroma. Nice balance of acidity and tannins.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 83/100 with the following review:

Oct 5, 2014: Medium ruby, somewhat candied nose of cherry/berry fruit with some green herb along with vanilla and wood spice. Sweet plummy/cherry fruit, chocolate and vanilla - basic comercial wine manufactured for wide apeal.
