Reviews and Ratings

I adore this wine. As the vintage ages the full flavors come out. The best time to purchase the new vintage is June , best enjoyed at least 6 months later. The full flavors marry well and the sweetness of the cherries settle and the more subtle flavors of tobacco and oak appear lush and rest on your palate.

A great Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of black currant, plum and black cherry. You have that yummy vanilla that comes from oak aging. Well structured with nice smooth tannins.

Almost 2007! Great year for J Lohr Cab. This vintage is getting close. Dark ruby red, this Cali classic has cassis, dark plum, cherry, oak and vanilla. Nice long finish and round tannins. Smooth going down. Perfect pairing for a sunset Barbeque. California dreaming...
Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The 2010 J. Lohr Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon has intense aromas of toasted oak, vanillin, blackberry, strawberry and bilberry. It is a full bodied, dry, fruity to integrated wine, with good acidity, refined tannins (decant for 15 min) and a long, vanilla dominated finish. This is a party friendly wine that can also be enjoyed with sweet/acidic foods; drink now - 2018+. My impression: NICE, 89 pts - though not crafted but tailored, this is a consistent product from vintage to vintage. Tasted April/13.

Courtney Flood rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Very hedonistic wine. Deep purple-red colour. Very rich in black and red fruits; black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, plum, cassis with a sweet vanilla background and a little bit of sweedish berry. The longer the wine sat, the more sweet notes I got. I found it a little on the plush side. Would be balanced by a smoky and slightly spicy barbequed meat.
