Oh how I love getting my teeth into a wine that knows how to show up to a party! This is a wine that doesn't hold back on personality! This is a wine that is best served with a bloody steak and strong flavoured red meats like bison or lamb. On the nose the aromas are sweet black cherries, black currants, blue berries and red currants. Sun baked hay, notes of cedar, herbal tones of thyme and bay. On the palate there are the sweet black Morello cherries, cassis, cooked plums and dried dates. Notes of toasted oak and herbal tones of thyme and bay. Black currant licorice steps forward and mingles with spice of nutmeg, anise and cloves. The tannins are firm yet velvety. There is a final black pepper spice before a lengthy , intense finish! Yum!

This wine is so well named, layers are exactly what you go through when drinking this wine. It feels like discovering a cup cake and ending up with the cherry on the top! On the nose there are sweet tones of candied pears, sweet ripe apricots, honey dew melon and then crisp notes of cucumber. Mild floral tones make for wonderful end to the aromas. On the palate there are the fruits of sweet apricots, ripe pears and succulent honey dew melon are wrapped up with lemon zest creating a well balanced acidity. Notes of freshly cut grass deliver the layers of different tones throughout each mouthful. Perfect served with Asian salmon or scallops. Bottoms up!

For an almost $20 and under wine, this has to be the star of that category. Presenting true nuances of a Ripasso done well. On the nose there are wild hedgerow fruit of black berries, logan berries, juniper berries and finally cranberries. Terroir tones of hedgerow undergrowth. On the palate there are again the wild fruits of black berries, redcurrants, juniper berries, cranberries, cooked plums and dried dates. Terroir tones of dried earth from the roots of hedgerow undergrowth intermingle with the notes of hot, dry backed terra cotta releasing notes of minerality. Tones of oak and smooth vanilla blend together before releasing herbal tones of bay leaves. Weathered leather and espresso beans step and release velvety tannins. A last spice of nutmeg and cloves end the journey with a smooth and lengthy finish. Delicious served with an array of cheeses, walnuts and dried fruits, or a roasted lemon and herbed chicken roasted with garlic roasted potatoes. Bottoms up!

This is such a deceiving wee wine! It appears to show light and fruity aromas but once you take that first sip.... well lets just say shes like a chameleon! On the nose the fruits are of sweet cherries, blueberry jelly and logan berries. Herbal tones of bay leaves and sweet floral tones of violets. On the palate the fruits are those of red cherries, black berries, logan berries and cranberries which present a dry and slightly tart taste which is balanced beautifully by the floral tones of the violets. Well rounded tones of cedar box and vanilla marry together coating the tongue with a creamy texture before introducing tones of coffee. The tannins are smooth and release final spices of nutmeg and white pepper before the velvety, lengthy finish. This wine is dry and full of creamy personality. Bottoms up!

This is a dry, light and refreshing wine. On the nose there are fruits of red currants, rose hips and red cherries. Floral notes of Lavender and Roses. On the palate the mouth is treated to vibrant lush red cherries, red currants and rose hips with notes of citrus zest. Tones of damp cigar leaves intermingle with leather and coffee undertones. The tannins are firm and release to final spice of nutmeg and white pepper. The finish is smooth. Bottoms Up!
